About Me

Bachelor's: University of St. Thomas  |  B.S. Psychology and Family Studies
Master's : Auburn University  |  M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy

As a therapist I feel honored and privileged to be a part of each individual’s journey toward healing and growth. I take seriously my role in this snapshot of your life and aim to work collaboratively to identify and actualize the goals you’ve set for yourself. It is my belief that the cornerstone of effective therapy is connection. From connection stems trust, understanding, feeling seen and heard, and ultimately growth.

My approach to therapy involves understanding who you are and what you’re looking for. While therapy is often focused on the areas in your life that aren’t going as you’d hoped, I aim to also identify what is going well, what is effective, and where your strengths lie. From these strengths we can build, grow, and change in directions you are more comfortable with. I have frequently found that those who are lost or in the most pain are uncertain about their identity and values. The therapy room can be a space to explore who you are, what you value, what direction you seek to go, and to clarify personal goals. I exercise radical genuineness with my clients and allow them to see me, know me, and connect with me in our work together.

I have experience in working with adults and children of all ages, but have focused heavily on working with college students and young adults in recent years.  I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and have considerable experience facilitating DBT groups. I use an eclectic approach, borrowing often from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Processing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Feminist Theory, DBT, and Emotions Focused Therapy.

When I am not in the therapy room I enjoy connecting with nature through hiking and all Minnesota lakes related activities. I am a mom to two young boys and spend much of my time answering questions and watching tricks. When I'm not parenting, I'm filling my cup through reading and whatever art project has recently grabbed my attention - currently embroidery.

I look forward to getting to know you!
